Content: Folio 463. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to J and W Rees Mogg (John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg), Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of the Articles of Agreement between James Craig, Medical Officer, and the guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union and copies of communications with Mr Craig regarding renewal of the contract. The letter goes on to explain that Article 12 allows the guardians to vary fees for attending childbirth between 10s and 20s, depending on the distance from the Medical Officer's residence. Finally, the decision is to be at the discretion of the guardians as the Commissioners feel it is not their place to interfere. Paper Number: 9692/B/1847. Poor Law Union Number 374.
