Copies: Letter from J and W Rees Mogg (John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg), Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, to James Craig, of Timsbury, requesting that he advise whether he is willing to renew his contract as Medical Officer and Public Vaccinator of the Clutton District, under the same conditions as previously held. Letter from James Craig, Medical Officer for Clutton District, dated 18 March 1847, to J and W Rees Mogg (John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg), Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, confirming that he will renew his contract once the extra charges for midwifery have been confirmed by the Poor Law Commissioners. Letter from J and W Rees Mogg (John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg), Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, dated 29 March 1847, to James Craig Esquire, of Timsbury, confirming that he was re-appointed by the Poor Law Guardians on 19 March 1847, subject to his accepting on the same terms he previously held. Letter from James Craig, dated 31 March 1847, that he is awaiting the outcome of his appeal to the Poor Law Commissioners. Letter from J and W Rees Mogg to James Craig, dated 5 April 1847, acknowledging his right to appeal to the Poor Law Commissioners but reiterating that the Poor Law Guardians wish to know whether he will be renewing his contract.
