Content: Folio 34. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians, Mansfield Union. Appointment of collector - Acknowledge receipt of a letter dated the 17 February 1845 returning the completed questionnaire regarding Mr Beastall's appointment as Collector of Poor Rates for the parish of Sutton in Ashfield. The appointment is approved at a salary of £60 per year but it is pointed out that the Commissioners' deposit of certain title deeds in the hands of treasurer of the workhouse as security for the one of faithful performance of the duties of the office, is not satisfactory unless accompanied by a Bond duly entered into as required by the Commissioners' order.
