Content: Folios 30-33. Letter from Letter from W E Goodacre, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mansfield Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission. He encloses a list of queries received with the letter dated 30 December 1844, No 19,450/B/1844, relating to the appointment of a collector of rates for the parish of Sutton in Ashfield. He states that the board is notified as soon as possible if Mr Beastall's appointment is approved under the proposed conditions. Enclosed is the appointment form for Charles Beastall as Collector of the Rates for Sutton in Ashfield at £60 per annum. The form shows Beastall as a farmer and hosier, and he had also been a churchwarden and overseer for the parish. He was appointed on the dismissal of George Wass. Annotated: Mr Weale [Robert Weale, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner], 'Approves' of the appointment, 21 February 1854. Paper Number: 2594/B/1845. Poor Law Union Number 337.
