Content: Folios 177-179. Letter from William Powell, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newport Pagnell Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, stating that the Board of guardians has recommended that there is a revision of the present dietary table as a result of the report from the committee formed to look into the diet at the workhouse. The Commission are asked to approve a revision of the dietary table to allow paupers an additional 2 ounces of bread on days when soup is ordered for dinner. Attached is a copy of the Poor Law Commission's notice of the weekly diet for men and women with special dispensations for the old, children and the sick. Dated 13 April 1837. Annotated: by Edward Sutton saying that the proposal is in line with normal practice and is approved by the Poor Law Commission. Paper Number: 3514/A/1839.
