Content: Folios 78-79. Letter from William Powell, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newport Pagnell Poor Law Union, to Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission, stating that Samuel Griggs had served as Constable of the parish for 15 years and resumed office this year thinking it would arm him with authority in his duties as Relieving Officer. Regarding the land, Griggs has a brother who is a farmer at Sherington about three miles from Olney and his residence. He has money invested in this farm and is the security in his brother's trade, but does not interfere in the cultivation or management of it.
