Content: Folio 14. Letter from Henry Crutler and John Griffin, Bromsgrove Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission. After reading various newspapers it has come to the attention of the Bromsgrove Guardians that by an order dated 20 February that the election of the guardians for the year be removed from the churchwardens and overseers and transferred to the clerks to the board of guardians. That as overseers we are anxious to know if this order applies to all poor law unions. They have been informed by the clerk of Bromsgrove Poor Law Union this does not apply to them and they should continue as usual. Request is made for the Commissioners agreement that they proceed as before. Annotated: issued answer, 7 March 1839. Paper Number: 1785/C/1839. Poor Law Union Number 526.
