Letter from S P Peters, Churchwarden, Parish of Filley [Philleigh] in the Truro Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, confirming that Joseph Williams, his wife and child occupy the house and land for which he is rated, and stating the rental. Annotated: the overseers did right in rating Joseph Williams and applying to enforce the rate. If he is too poor to pay, he may be excused if the parish officials consent. If not, the justices are bound by law to impose the payment. Paper Number: 5631/A/1847. Poor Law Union Number 57. Counties: Cornwall.
