Content: Folios 20-22. Letter from Joseph Wilson, Churchwarden, and Robert Trayte, Overseer, Charmouth, to the Poor Law Commission, requesting guidance on the matter of a female residing in the parish that has recently had a bastard child. She has recently been granted relief and then presented to the magistrate for examination. Her settlement is in an adjacent parish and requires a removal order. The magistrate found her to be distressed; they declined examination and said she was immoveable. The parish ask if they should allow the woman to stay and let another pauper starve. Request that the woman should be removed to her own parish by order of the magistrate. [Folios 20-21 are small paper tabs.] Poor Law Union Number 76. Counties: Devon and Dorset.
