Content: Folio 55. Letter from James Hulbert [guardian for the township of Bingley] to the Poor Law Commission, writing on behalf of the churchwardens and overseers of the poor in Bingley in the Keighley Poor Law Union. They have received the order to begin the work of the union and wish to know if the registrar for births and deaths of a district can act as assistant overseer and registrar for the same area under the New Poor Laws. Annotated: 4 July 1838, by A Power [Alfred Power, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner] that there is no objection to the proposal. Paper Number: 6434/A/1838. Poor Law Union Number 571.
