Content: Folio 18. Letter from William Powell, Clerk to the Guardians of the Newport Pagnell Poor Law Union, to Courtenay, Secretary to the Poor Law Board, in reply to the board's letter of 30 January 1852, Paper Number: 5402/1852, which forwarded a copy of a letter from John Clarke of Olney. They have fully investigated this case. Clarke is employed on good wages as a gardener and does not require outdoor relief. They did offer the workhouse. Annotated: to acknowledge and thank, and to inform the applicant that the board have enquired but see no reason to interfere. 6576/1852. Poor Law Union Number 23. Counties: Buckinghamshire.
