Content: Folio 236. Letter from Robert Cutting, Pauper, to the Poor Law Commission. He states that he lives at Cotmanhay, Ilkeston, but belongs to Basford [Basford Poor Law Union]. He has a workhouse order for Basford and the parish of Ilkeston were to remove him. They refuse to do so 'until it suits their own convenience'. The family is left without food and has been refused relief. He asks for help. Paper Number: 7632/B/1843. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
