Letter from the Reverend Thomas Greene, Curate, Great Dunham, Swaffham, to the Poor Law Commission, discussing a meeting where churchwardens, overseers and parishioners resolved to borrow the sum of £300 towards paying expenses for emigration and have enclosed the forms of notice and resolution, a list and description of the parties desirous of emigrating and requests the certificate of application is laid before the board for their consideration. Emigration form A relating to a 'Notice of meeting to consent to raising or borrowing money for emigration purposes', for the parish of Great Dunham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, signed by Thomas Greene, Minister; Jesse Palmer and James Carrington, Churchwardens; Jesse Palmer and James Hubbard, Overseers and witnessed by James Eldrid, Vestry Clerk. 21 January 1836. Emigration form B relating respectively to a 'Resolution entered in Rate-books' for the parish of Great Dunham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, signed by Thomas Greene, Chairman. Signed by Thomas Greene, Minister; Jesse Palmer and James Canington, Churchwardens; Jess Palmer and James Hubbard, Overseers and witnessed by James Eldrid, Vestry Clerk. 21 January 1836. Emigration form C relating to a 'Certificate of Minister, Churchwardens and Overseers of the Forms of the Act having been complied with' for the parish of Great Dunham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union signed by Thomas Greene, Minister; Jesse Palmer and James Carrington, Churchwardens; Jesse Palmer and James Hubbard, Overseers and witnessed by James Eldrid, Vestry Clerk. 24 February 1836. Emigration form D relating to an 'Application to Exchequer Bill Loan Commissioners' for the Parish of Great Dunham asking for a loan of £300 to defray the expenses of emigration of several paupers. Signed by Jesse Palmer and James Carington, Churchwardens, Jesse Palmer and James Hubbard, Overseers. 24 February 1836. A list and description of the parties desirous of emigrating with the amount of relief accrued from the parish of Great Dunham, during the past. William Rush, wife and two children. Single men: John Carter, William Chamberlain, Thomas Atmore, James Cory, James Kiddle, Henry Pollington, Robert Hardy, James Hardy and Robert Noah.
