Content: Folios 23-24. An outline history of East Dereham and Dillington Workhouse from R B Scragges, Vestry Clerk, East Dereham to the Poor Law Commission, stating the population of the parish to be 3,943 in 1831; Mr Bates and Mr Warner, Overseers, recommends removing the role of assistant overseer, details of meetings, recommendations of pay increases and changes to job roles including the role of the vestry clerk and the governor and matron, the process used for electing four overseers, two tradesmen and two farmers. A request is made to confirm if the overseers can still undertake the annual indenture of children, who are old enough, for three years to local farmers and traders.
