Content: Folio 25. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to R M Hodge [Richard Michell Hodge], Clerk to the Guardians of the Truro Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter of 10 March, returning the draft of the amended dietary, approved by the guardians, except in regard to the provision of sugar. They forward a copy of the order issued by the Commission [not included] and inform him that they do not think it advisable to frame their order so that it prevents sugar being provided in the tea given to infirm paupers. Annotated: by W G L [William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Commission], that the amended dietary order was sent 4 April 1842, 14 copies. Paper Number: 2559/A/1843.
