Content: Folios 99-100. Letter from J Adams, Parish Office, Wolstanton, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing resolutions of the select vestry meeting that day: John Adams Churchwarden, chairman. That as no reply had been received to the memorial sent to the Poor Law Commission via W B Baring [MP Staffordshire] objecting to the union of Burslem with Wolstanton, it was moved by Edward Wood and Allen Booth that Adams write to the Poor Law Commission and to Thomas Stevens [Assistant Poor Law Commissioner] with a new proposal that Wolstanton be united with Audley, Betley and Balterley as well as Burslem to obtain benefits of increased scale.
