Content: Folios 61-63. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Charles Hart, Clerk to the Liverpool Select Vestry, acknowledging receipt of letter dated 17 January 1856 and forwarding a copy dietary for the inmates of the Liverpool Workhouse. They state the order has been issued on the understanding the ingredients of several articles of diet shall be, as near as possible of the kinds and proportions set forth in his letter dated 13 November 1855. Attached was the dietary order addressed to the Liverpool Select Vestry in which the paupers in the workhouse shall be dieted with the food and in the manner set out as follows: weekly dietary regulations for able-bodied paupers, describing amounts of different foods given to men, women and children. Same for aged and infirm men and women. Together with set of rules and a list of copies of the same and to whom they were sent including [William Rees], District Auditor [for North and West Lancashire], and Mr H B Farnall, Poor Law Inspector. Order signed by [Edward Pleydell Bouverie, M.P., President of the Poor Law Board, the Lord President of the Council, the Lord Privy Seal, the Secretary of State for Home Department and the Chancellor of the Exchequer] and [Grenville C L Berkeley, MP and Secretary of the Poor Law Board].
