Folios 12-17. Letter from the duke of Grafton, chancellor of the university of Cambridge. Enclosed is a certificate to the chancellor from the vice-chancellor and heads of college recommending Edward Maltby of Pembroke Hall for royal letters mandatory enabling the university to dispense with its statutes in conferring on him the degree of Master of Arts. Also enclosed is the chancellor's letter of recommendation to the king supporting the issue of letters mandatory. |
