Description:

Copy letter from Captain Cook of the Resolution at Sheerness to the Board. He has considered the dimensions of the masts and yards of the sloop and thinks the lower masts will bear to be shortened about 2 feet but that it will not be necessary to reduce them in thickness. A man has been in this yard since the ship was here, who knew her in the merchant service and he has asserted that she was a stiff ship before we got her and was displeased at the report that had been raised against her.
