Description: |
Sheerness Officers. Report the problems encountered when trying to find shipping to carry stores to Flushing, even with ships under the command of Commodore Michell. The only ships in harbour were the Lys and the Kingsfisher. The Lys sailed before the order could be given and Captain Edwards of the Kingsfisher, said he could take nothing. Captain Hyde of the Gibraltar said he had no orders to sail to Flushing and his ship was too small. Enclosure |
