Folio 357. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commissioners to John Harrop, Clerk to the Manchester Board of Guardians, acknowledging his letter and informing them that John Shepherd Fletcher, recently appointed medical officer to the Canal Street and Tib Street workhouses, has resigned the office of medical officer so far as his attendance at the Tib Street Workhouse is concerned and that the guardians have accepted his resignation, and have decided on appointing a separate medical officer to Tib Street. The Commissioners will want to be further advised when the new medical officer has been appointed and of any alteration made in Shepherd's salary as medical officer at Canal Street. |
