Letter from John Harrop, Clerk to the Manchester Board of Guardians, to the Poor Law Commissioners, informing them that John Shepherd Fletcher, appointed medical officer to the Canal Street Tib Street Workhouses, has resigned that portion of the appointment referring to Tib Street Workhouse. Fletcher had informed the guardians, on the occasion of the Tib Street Workhouse being appropriated as a hospital for fever patients that he could not attend to both houses under such an arrangement, and the guardians have therefore decided upon appointing a medical officer to the Tib Street establishment separately.
