Description:

Pages 28 to 32. Railway company: Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway; Report on an accident which occurred on 14 February 1855 on the Barton Branch, in consequence of a collision between an engine and a passenger train. Engines identified as No 10 Pandora and No 56. Fault is largely attributed to the actions of Mr Gutzmer driving engine No 56, who is described as awaiting trail for manslaughter of at least one passenger.
