This series consists of a selection of exhibits from contentious probate cases heard in the Court of Probate and its successor.

In some cases the application for grant of probate arises from intestacy or from a difficulty concerning the legality of a will, such as not being properly signed and/or witnessed, or where only a copy of the original will has survived; in other cases, the papers arise from a dispute between interested parties. These exhibits relate to cases heard in such circumstances.
