Three maps, comprising four items (of territory now in Sierra Leone) showing rivers, settlements and routes. (8, 10) 'Expeditions under Governor Rowe, C.M.G. on the West Coast of Africa. The overland journies [sic] travelled over ...': on two sheets, together covering the area around Songo and Rotifunk. (9) 'Tracing of the Survey... of the Ribbee [?i.e. Ribi] River and its Branches': covering the area between Fundo and the coast. (11) 'Tracing of the Survey... of the River Bompeh [i.e. Bumpe] and its Branches ...': covering an area south of Rotifunk; irregular. Items (8) and (10) to scale: 1 inch to 1 mile [1:63,360]. Compass indicators to all items; east at the top of item (11). All items surveyed by Surgeon J J Lamprey, Army Medical Department, February-March 1880; items (9) and (11) traced May 1880. |
