Catalogue description Board of Stamps: Letter Books (M series)

This series of entry books contains out letters of the Board of Stamps to: (i) Surveyors and distributors of stamps in England and Wales; (ii) Irish Board of Stamps; (iii) Private individuals and businesses in England, Wales and Scotland; (iv) Other government departments except the Treasury.

From 1819, letters falling within categories (ii) to (iv) above are entered in the series of Miscellaneous Books and therefore this series contains only letters to surveyors and distributors of stamps in England and Wales.
