Reference: HW 2
Title: Government Code and Cypher School: Cheadle Station: War Diaries and Miscellaneous Records
Description:

War diaries, some reports of intercepts, and other records of the Y Station based at Cheadle RAF Station. The earlier records consist of the Cheadle War Diaries, which contain narratives on what was occurring in the various theatres as background to each month's activity. These narratives were not wholly based on sigint. It is thought the war diaries were written in the late 1940s.

Two pieces relate to air force interception work carried out at RAF Waddington prior to World War II, before the RAF intercept station was moved to Cheadle.
