Description:

Incomplete twelve-page draft paper deposition from an unknown person, concerning deeds and title to crop-growing land known as Great and Little Twelve Acres; produce of that land and its storage in barns; money raised from its sale. Deponent is a servant of 'Mistress Boxe' who is probably the defendant in the case. Deposition mentions Alderman Slayney of London. Stephen Slanye was alderman for Portsoken from 1584 and knighted as mayor in 1596, giving the likely date range of the document.
