Map of the British Isles, with the coast of France from Calais to Brest and (inset) coast of Flanders from Ostend to Ambleteuse. Shows cities, boroughs, market-towns and villages. Reference table in a rococo cartouche decorated with fruit and surveying instruments. Title in a rococo cartouche flanked by a three-deck ship, an anchor, a cask, bales, a tree, a cannon firing, the royal arms on a scroll: surmounted by a draped female figure seated on a cloud. Decorative border. Scale: 1 inch to 9 miles. Two compass stars, one a sun in splendour. [By] Richard William Seale, geographer. Published by Thomas Jefferys, Geographer to the Prince of Wales, opposite Northumberland House in the Strand.
