This series consists of a heterogeneous collection of papers acquired or created by the narrators and historians of the Historical Section for the preparation of the United Kingdom histories of the Second World War. It includes operational reports, military despatches, statistics, maps, official memoranda, personal descriptions of particular events, extracts from personal and official war diaries and narrators' notes and papers, as well as correspondence and comments by the principal commanders associated with the narratives produced by the British and Commonwealth Historical Sections.
