The Post-War Priority Committee was set up on 11 July 1918 under the chairmanship of Jan Smuts. Its brief was to consider post-war priorities and the problems involved in the removal of controls over materials, manufactures and production. The Post-War Priority Committee was dissolved on 6 December 1918, its role being taken over by the Demobilization Committee. This body had been established on 30 October 1918, again under the chairmanship of Smuts. This too, was dissolved on 19 December 1918 and its place was taken by the Co-ordination of Demobilization Section of the War Cabinet under the chairmanship of Sir Eric Geddes.
