This series consists of the printed minutes of meetings of the Committee of Imperial Defence (CID) for the years 1902 to 1939, including the minutes of the Standing Defence Sub-committee from 1921 to 1922. Tthe First World War minutes addressed all aspects of defence, including home, imperial and colonial defence, and the defence of India, co-operation between the UK and the dominions, the possibility of invasion, garrisons, the militia and volunteers, the control of aircraft, press and censorship, radio and telegraphic communication and the co-ordination of departmental action and supplies.
