Orders in Chancery concerning the disposal of money and documents brought into court during equity suits. Once the order was made, the usher had the responsibility of delivering them in exchange for a receipt, and the series includes examples both of letters of instruction to the usher and the resulting receipts. The orders bear signs of drafting and correction; fair copies of them were entered in the decree and order books (C 33). They also contain notes of further developments in the case which do not appear there. |
