This series consists of the following Chancery masters' miscellaneous books:

  • depositions by witnesses in actions, 1722-1799;
  • solicitors' admission books, 1729-1843;
  • a volume of committals for contempt of court, 1827-1846;
  • barristers' opinions etc, 1825-1827;
  • twelve summons books, 1852-1858, containing correspondence relating to suits unfinished at the time of the abolition of the Chancery masters in 1852;
  • three private letter books, 1802-1803 and 1830, two belonging to Ellis and Walmsley, solicitors;
  • six minute books relating to the winding-up of companies under the Joint Stock Companies Acts of 1848 and 1849;
  • sale books, describing lots, conditions of sale, bids made and names of bidders for property sold by order of the court, 1718-1834;
  • original correspondence, orders, affidavits, etc, of various masters;
  • papers and account books of the Report Office, relating to suitors' funds, 1725-1868;
  • a volume of common law writs, 1654-1659.
