This series consists of records of the Office for the Investiture of the Prince of Wales. It contains minutes and papers of the committee set up to organise the Investiture and some of its sub-committees. Also included are some of the working papers created in the Investiture Office. The vast majority of the files are from 1967 to 1969.

Administrative / biographical background:

In 1967, the Secretary of State for Wales set up a committee to organise the celebrations surrounding the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales and Earl of Chester. At the same time a small office was established to provide secretarial and other services to the committee. The committee and the office were accommodated in London.
