TheGas Turbine Collaboration Committee was formed in 1941 by the Ministry of Aircraft Production to encourage and guide collaboration between firms engaged on gas turbine projects.

The first meeting was held on 1 Nov 1941 and was attended by representatives from the firms concerned, from the Royal Aircraft Establishment and from the Ministry of Aircraft Production (MAP).

Specialist panels, later reconstituted as sub-committees, were formed to assist close collaboration and furnish information on the technical details and performance of the engines under development by the various firms.
