Title: | Air Ministry and predecessor and successors: Civil Aviation, Registered Files |
Description: |
Files relating to all aspects of civil aviation business. From April 1945 the files include papers added by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and from October 1953, a few from the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. These files were created in the Air Ministry during the period (1919-1945) when that Ministry was responsible for Civil Aviation affairs. The few pre-1919 files included in the series were inherited from the War Office, which, in the early years, exercised control over aeronautical developments. Files previously in the MT 28 series (Ministry of Transport: Civil Aviation Files) have been incorporated in this series. |
