Administrative / biographical background:

The Energy Advisory Office was created as a branch of the Policy and Operations Division of the Nature Conservancy Council in 1973. After being initially based at their Scottish Headquarters, it transferred to the North West Region of the Nature Conservancy Council. The Energy Advisory Officer reported to the Head of Oil Pollution, Energy, Water, Marine and Minerals.
