Land Economy Division was created in 1979 from the Estates Divisions (Commercial Property Division 1, and Estates Division) and comprised three parts: Land Economy 1, 2 and 3:

  • Land Economy Division 1: planning; housing; transport; agriculture; development agencies; property finance.
  • Land Economy Division 2: commercial property; liaison with economic advisors; landlord and tenant legislation; secretariat to the Property Advisory Group.
  • Land Economy Division 3: strategic planning, growth areas, central areas, industrial location, housing rehabilitation.

By 1982 the functions had been transferred to Planning and Land Use Policy (PLUP).
