The Community Land Act 1975 (C 77) enabled local and certain other authorities to acquire, manage and deal with land suitable for development. In 1977 the Community Land Act Advisory Team was constituted. In 1978 the Team's responsibilities widened to include professional aspects of the Community Land Scheme and the Environmental Board. From 1980 responsibility for the Community Land Scheme was subsumed back into Planning Land Use Policy and the Community Land Act Advisory Team was dissolved.
