Administrative / biographical background:

The files were originally created in 1991 by the Department of Social Security's Social Security Group Division E whose responsibilities included Lone Parents and Maintenance Policy and the Child Support Agency Project Team. These files were then transferred to the Child Support Unit to cover the operational aspects liable relative work in preparation for the launch of the Child Support Agency on 1 April 1992. Registry 36 was a centralised registry covering all aspects of CSA work.
