Administrative / biographical background:

The Advisory Committee on Pesticides is a statutory body set up under section 16(7) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985 to advise on all matters relating to the control of pesticides. The Committee is established by the Control of Pesticides (Advisory Committee on Pesticides) Order 1985, SI No 1985/1516. Administrative and secretarial support for the Committee is provided by the Pesticides Safety Directorate.
