Administrative / biographical background:

The Home Grown Cereals, Eggs and Poultry Division was created in 1965 when Branches C and D of the Economic Advice and Marketing Division, which related to eggs and poultry, were merged with the Home Grown Cereals Division.

Divisional responsibilities included policy and administrative matters concerning the marketing of home grown cereals; the cereals deficiency scheme; policy relating to eggs, egg products and poultry; supervision of arrangements for the administration of relevant sections of agricultural legislation and liaison with the British Egg Marketing Board.
