Description:

Files relating to departments', ministers', MPs', armed forces, civil servants and diplomatic service allowances, expenses, and other non-pay emoluments, including questions of their liability to income tax, compensation for the effects of devaluation of the pound, etc.

There are correspondence and papers created in the Treasury and pre-dating the constitution of the Civil Service Department from, for example, the 2/CP, 2/DOP, 2/DP, and 2/EG Treasury series, but the papers were brought together in 1968 within the Civil Service Department branch registry and incorporated in the HOA/MP(5) series.
