Many of the papers in this file series predate the establishment of the Welsh Office. There is no evidence of how, or even if, they were originally filed but some pages have been given LG and LA references. The covers definitely originate in the Welsh Office. The allocation to the Local Government Water and Sewage Division is speculative, as this appears to be the only one that has any relevance to the subject. Later the files seem to have been transferred to the Pollution Inspectorate. |
