In 1912 the Treasury sanctioned an experiment in direct selling in Edinburgh by the Staionery Office. The exercise was a success and Edinburgh was maintained to serve Scotland with government publications. The Edinburgh Branch continued to expand up to the point where regional organisation was disbanded in 1981. |
