Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) is responsible for helping trade unions and management of a business or organisation to resolve conflict at work. The Conciliation and Arbitration Branch were responsible for providing conciliation and mediation as a means of avoiding and resolving industrial disputes. Conciliation is where ACAS helps parties reach their own agreement and outcome.
