Established in 1845 by virtue of Registration &c. of Joint Stock companies Act of that year, and became completely registered in January 1850. Bradshaw's Manual for 1923 (page 242) recites that Swansea Vale Railway Company was originally a registered company formed in January 1850 to acquire Swansea Valley Railway Company, q.v. Swansea Vale Railway Company was incorporated under act of 15th June 1855 to convert Company from registered company into one acting under authority of Parliament and was leased by Midland Railway Company under act of 1874 and vested in Midland Railway Company under act of 11th August 1876. Midland Railway Company was vested in London Midland & Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
