Administrative / biographical background:

The Beef Labelling Section was created on the formation of the Scheme in 1997 from within the Beef and Sheep Division, which from 1990 came under the Livestock Products Group.

The Scheme remained the responsibility of Beef and Sheep Division until 2004 when it came under the responsibility of Livestock Products Division. The current team was formed from the old CAP commodity Divisions (e.g. Beef and Sheep Division, Milk, Eggs and Poultry Division) in 2006/2007.
