This series contains the minutes and papers of the Investment Advisory Committee. Although the Committee was set up in 1914 the records date from 1923 only. The whereabouts of the earlier files are not known, but are presumed to have been destroyed.

The binders contain minutes of meetings and papers listing sales and investments of stocks and securities.

Administrative / biographical background:

The Investment Advisory Committee was established to monitor and advise on investments made by the Public Trustee. Later it also discussed general questions of current and financial policy.

A similar committee was established in the Court of Protection in the late 1960s and the two separate committees were merged in 1985 as a prelude to the establishment of the new Public Trustee Office.
